Achievement Plus is a home tutoring program serving the Southside and Peninsula areas of
Subjects offered range from pre-school to college level math, science, English, social studies, business, foreign languages, study skills, and computer training. With over 180 qualified tutors we can offer help to parents in preparing their child for any Standards of Learning (SOL) tests in 3rd, 5th, or 8th grade, and high school. Special needs and reading specialists are also available.
Our goal is to provide qualified tutors to help students to achieve their best. We attempt to match student availability and needs with tutors in their area. Most of our tutors are currently certified, or have been certified, and have several years' experience, but other qualifications are considered.
For the safety of both the tutor and the student, an adult must be present during all tutoring sessions. Otherwise, tutoring can be conducted in a public building.

Rates
There is no contract to sign! There is a recommended minimum of one hour of tutoring each week, but tutors are available for additional time if needed. We set up the same day and time each week that is convenient for you. You can terminate the tutoring at any time. When a qualified tutor is found, clients are charged a one time registration fee of $25 payable to "Achievement Plus". There is an additional $10 fee for other children, or to find additional tutors for other subjects. Tutors for most subjects are paid $36 directly for each session, which is approximately one hour long. The hourly rate for Algebra 2 and above in math, Chemistry and Physics is $40.
If for any reason you are not satisfied or your assigned tutor becomes unavailable, another tutor will be provided or your registration fee is refunded.
